Job Description

 Programmer Analyst

As a member of the Software Development team, the Programmer Analyst will be developing and maintaining custom software applications for MEDISCA.  You will have the opportunity to run the entire lifecycle of the projects. Scoping it out, working on the front end, the database, the user guides, providing a full turnkey solution. At the same time, you are learning the exciting and complex business processes of the Pharmaceutical industry.

You will become the guru of your product, providing support and interacting with the users on a daily basis. Collaborate with other departments, staff, and IT colleagues. Identify user requirements, assess available technologies and create the solutions based on your input and expertise.

The Opportunity:

 

Learn, Plan, Program and Create

  • Meet with stakeholders to determine the requirements.
  • Plan and spec out the project with the development team and other resources.
  • Code, review, debug and release.
  • Ensure all stages of the development life cycle are followed and complete (Requirements, Change Controls, Testing, Validation, Documentation etc.)
  • Collaborate with the end users and provide support as required for our programs.
  • Troubleshoot bugs and performance issues in the live environment.

Job Requirements

  • Someone that wants to do it all, not content to just work on the same lines of code all day.
  • Experience with databases and understand database concepts.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Visual Studio, Java, C#, Crystal Reports, SQL Server, and other current programming tools.
  • Demonstrated creativity/innovation and positive attitude
  • Excellent communication skills; fluent English and basic French (oral & written) required


  • One to two (1-2) years experience in programming, learn and grow with us.
  • CEGEP/College or University degree in Computer Science or related.
